Work with on labeling number lines. ß-----------------------------------------à 1/4, 2/4, 3/4 , 4/4

They needs to do be able to label number lines such as: halves, 4^ths, 8ths, 3rds, and 6ths

Doing greater than and Lesson Than

2/4 is greater or less than 3/8. I teach them to multiply the top and bottom to make the bottom or the denominator the same or to draw them on a number line.

The last thing for now is cutting something (such as a brownie) maybe try doing this with actual food? Into pieces like 4 pieces and figuring out how much each person would get (1/4). Let me know if you have any questions. We will be doing fractions for 10 weeks. I think there is 8 or 9 more weeks. We are just now starting it.
